Introducing the New ASotREG.com!

Jul 9, 2015 | Random

I’m excited to unveil the new ASotREG.com design. It’s a bit of a soft launch because I’ll be gathering feedback, reviewing the analytics, and revising the design over the next few months. Nonetheless, I’m happy with the way it turned out and excited to have a new platform to continue to serve my audience.

Why I Decided to Redesign the Site

For the past 6 years, ASotREG has served as my personal blog. Now I’m ready to showcase ASotREG, the brand. There’s a big distinction between a personal blog and a brand. Personal blogs are disorganized, content is published when the writer has time, and the content can be whatever the writer chooses. A brand on the other hand, comes with a set of expectations; content is produced regularly and with the target reader in mind, the newsletter is sent on schedule, and there is consistency across everything the brand does.

I want to transition ASotREG to be more of a stand-alone brand. This design is a major step in that direction.

The New Design Explained

The most noticeable change is the creation of a new landing page. Instead of landing directly on the blog page, I created a homepage to serve a starting point for new visitors. Once there, you have the option to choose your direction.

When you land there the first thing you see is a main header bar with a lead magnet. The lead magnet is intended to encourage readers to join the ASotREG mailing list. It was created to appeal to a wide audience and like the design, the lead magnet content will be constantly updated as I get reader feedback. I’d love to hear what you think.

Lead Magnet

Moving down the site, I organized the content into 3 buckets to allow readers to find what they’re looking for more easily. The 3 content categories include; ‘Beginning and Growing Your Real Estate Career’, ‘Starting Your Own Real Estate Investment Firm’, and ‘Real Estate Technology and Innovation’.

3 buckets

Scrolling downward from there, you can view the 3 most recent blog posts published, which provides a sense of what I’m currently thinking about and working on. I have the option to showcase any posts, so from time to time, I’ll use it as a way to highlight some of my favorite posts.

Featured blog posts

The internal pages and blog posts remain relatively unchanged. I made some minor revisions to the sidebar including a small ‘About’ widget and access to the same 3 content categories found on the homepage.

I encourage you to spend some time digging through the site because there’s a lot of content layered in such as my ‘Reading List’ and ‘Quotes’.

I hope you like the new design. If you have a few minutes, I’d really appreciate you email me with any comments.
