When I started this blog in January 2009, I was hesitant to tell anybody about it because of my fear of criticism. For a naturally introverted person, opening yourself up to be vulnerable is a scary thing. While that part of my brain still exists (the lizard brain or resistance as Seth Godin calls it), I’ve really come to enjoy writing in a public forum.
Writing however, is only one medium to reach an audience. Over the past couple of years the popularity of podcasts has skyrocketed. I’ve been asked to be a guest several times, but because of the resistance, found reasons to decline. However, just like I built the courage to begin publicizing my writings on the blog, I’ve recently been a guests on a few popular real estate podcasts; Real Estate Investing for Cash Flow with Kevin Bupp and Joe Fairless’ Best Real Estate Investing Ever show.
You can listen to each podcast here:
While the interviews were a bit awkward at first and after listening to them I realize I have some (yeah, so) public speaking flaws, I really enjoyed sharing my thoughts in a more authentic forum.
I likely won’t be starting the ASotREG Podcast anytime soon (although I wouldn’t rule it out), I’m lined up to be a guest on a few more podcasts and hope to do more audio/video content in the future.
I’d love to hear your feedback.
